Halotir H2O

Overview

Halotir H2O is sterile water containing 0.9% benzyl alcohol as a preservative. The benzyl alcohol suppresses microbial growth, which is what keeps a stock solution stable across the working life of an experiment rather than only at the moment it is prepared.

In the laboratory it is the standard water for lyophilized peptides. Material supplied as a dry cake is brought back into solution with a measured volume, giving a known working concentration for downstream dilution, aliquoting, and assay preparation. The preserved formulation is the practical choice wherever a stock solution is held over the course of a study rather than prepared fresh each time.

Each vial contains 10 mL of solution, sealed for laboratory use. This material is supplied strictly for in-vitro research and laboratory experimentation and is not for human or veterinary use of any kind.

Handling and storage

Store upright at controlled room temperature and protect from light. Do not freeze. Sampling is carried out under aseptic technique in a laboratory setting. Discard the vial if the solution is discoloured, cloudy, or contains particulates. Handle with gloves and standard laboratory PPE, and follow your institution's chemical-hygiene procedures at all times.
