Overview
Melanotan II is a synthetic cyclic heptapeptide analog of alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (α-MSH), designed with a lactam bridge that markedly increases its stability and receptor potency relative to the native hormone.
As a non-selective melanocortin-receptor agonist, Melanotan II is used in laboratory research on melanocortin pharmacology, including MC1R-mediated melanogenesis in pigment-cell models and comparative receptor-subtype binding studies across the melanocortin family.
Each vial contains 10 mg of lyophilized Melanotan II, sealed for laboratory use. This material is supplied strictly for in-vitro research and laboratory experimentation and is not for human or veterinary use of any kind.
Documented research areas
- Melanocortin-receptor subtype binding and selectivity studies
- Melanogenesis pathways in pigment-cell models
- Cyclic-peptide stability and structure-activity research
- Receptor-signaling assays (cAMP and downstream pathways)
