Overview
Semax is a synthetic heptapeptide (Met-Glu-His-Phe-Pro-Gly-Pro) built from a fragment of adrenocorticotropic hormone, ACTH(4–7), extended with a Pro-Gly-Pro stabilizing sequence that protects it from rapid enzymatic breakdown.
In the laboratory, Semax is used in neuroscience research examining neurotrophic factor expression, particularly brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), along with melanocortin-receptor signaling in neural tissue and neuroprotection in cellular stress models.
Each vial contains 10 mg of lyophilized Semax, sealed for laboratory use. This material is supplied strictly for in-vitro research and laboratory experimentation and is not for human or veterinary use of any kind.
Documented research areas
- BDNF and neurotrophic-factor expression studies
- Melanocortin-receptor signaling in neural models
- Neuroprotection assays under oxidative or ischemic stress
- Cognitive-neuroscience and synaptic-plasticity research
