Overview
GHK-Cu is the copper(II) complex of the naturally occurring tripeptide glycyl-L-histidyl-L-lysine, first isolated from human plasma. The peptide binds copper with high affinity, and the resulting complex is among the most-studied molecules in skin and tissue-remodeling research.
Laboratory applications center on extracellular-matrix biology: collagen and glycosaminoglycan synthesis in fibroblast cultures, wound-closure and remodeling assays, metalloproteinase regulation, and gene-expression profiling. It is also a standard reference compound in cosmetic-science R&D.
